The 1933 New York Yankees played the 31st season in team history. They finished with a record of 91-59, 7 games behind the Washington Senators. New York was managed by Joe McCarthy. The Yankees played at Yankee Stadium.

On August 3rd, the Yankees were shut out, 7-0, by the Philadlephia Athletics and pitcher Lefty Grove. This ended a major league record streak of 308 games without being shut out, dating back to August 2, 1931. The record still stands.
