History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
The 2002 Cleveland Indians used 59 players, which was the ML record, shared with one other team, the San Diego Padres of (coincidentally) 2002, until shattered by the 2014 Texas Rangers. They started the season with a bang as they hit at least one homer in each of their first 14 games, during which they went 11-3. They were the only major league team to do this until the 2019 Seattle Mariners surpassed the mark. They were unable to sustain this strong start however, as they had fallen to .500 with a loss on April 30th and eventually finished well below .500, costing manager Charlie Manuel his job in the process.
