History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
One could argue that the 2006 Texas Rangers blew their chance at a division title. Although finishing under .500, their Pythagorean winning percentage was actually the best of any team in the division. Based on their offensive/defensive production, they should have won 86 games, more than either the 2006 Oakland Athletics (who had a Pythagorean of 85), or the 2006 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (who had a Pythagorean of 84).
Awards and Honors[edit]
- All-Stars: Gary Matthews and Michael Young
- AL Gold Glove: Mark Teixeira (1B)
