On July 27th, the 2012 St. Louis Cardinals hit homers in the first 5 innings in a game against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Matt Holliday hit one in the 1st, Yadier Molina had a two-run shot in the 2nd, Lance Berkman in the 3rd, Matt Carpenter in the 4th to break a 6-6 tie, and Allen Craig in the 5th for the killer blow in a 9-6 win. Travis Wood allowed all five homers, tying a Cubs franchise record. No team had hit home runs in each of the first 5 innings of a game since the Houston Astros on October 2, 2004.
