Aida Park

From BR Bullpen

Aida Park, located in Cienfuegos, Cuba was the home ballpark of the Cienfuegos team of the Cuban Winter League.

It was inaugurated on May 1, 1926 and was considered one of the most modern and best-equipped stadiums in Latin America at the time, with a capacity of 4,000. It included a large grandstand, a part of which was shaded. The ballpark was badly damaged by a cyclone in 1935 and it took a number of years until it was returned to its past state by a new ownership group, which gave it the name "Estadio Trinidad y Hermanos" (Trinidad Brothers Stadium), after owner Amado Trinidad. Following the Cuban Revolution, the stadium became state property and was converted to a soccer field under the name "Estadio Luis Pérez Lozano".

On January 1, 1929, Cool Papa Bell, playing for Cienfuegos, had the only three-homer game in the history of the Cuban Winter League here; all three homers were hit inside-the-park.
