Biographical Information[edit]
Starting pitcher Al Krupski played in the minor leagues from 1934 to 1939. He was 10-4 in 18 starts for the Martinsville Manufacturers in 1934, then 17-16 in 41 starts between Martinsville (35 G) and Asheville Tourists (6 G) in 1935. He slipped to 6-15 in 1936, but rebounded to 13-6 with a 3.15 ERA in 27 games in 1937, 11-6, 4.08 in 1938 and 11-9, 4.62 in 1939. Overall, Krupski went 69-57 in 172 games over 6 seasons. He also managed Martinsville in 1939, replacing Jim Poole on June 1 and being replaced by Harry Daughtry on August 4.
