Baton Rouge, LA
Baton Rouge is the state capital of Louisiana, located on the Mississippi River in the southern part of the state. It is 80 miles north-west of New Orleans, LA. The name Baton Rouge means "red stick" in French and refers to the Indian nation which inhabited the area when the French settled Louisiana in the 18th Century.
