Biographical Information[edit]
Benny Culp, who was born and died in Philadelphia, PA, was a wartime catcher for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1942 to 1944. Although he was past 30, he served in the Navy in 1944 and 1945.
After his playing career ended, Culp was a Philadelphia Phillies coach in 1946 and 1947. He was also a longtime American Legion Baseball manager.
