Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Bob Turzilli played in the Milwaukee Braves/Atlanta Braves system from 1965 to 1970; he spent his final two seasons at Triple A, but never reached the major leagues. A defense-first backstop, he never hit more than 4 home runs in a season, averaging one every 134 at-bats for his career; he stole just 13 bases in his six-year career and slashed .240/.338/.304 in 1,093 plate appearances. He has since scouted for the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs, signing, among others, pitcher Dan Morogiello. He won the A.B. "Turk" Karam Award in 1986.
