Biographical Information[edit]

Carl Pohlad purchased the Minnesota Twins from Calvin Griffith's family in 1984 for $32 million. The club won the World series in 1987 and again in 1991. After his death his son Jim became the owner of the team.

Pohlad was a billionaire and frequently appeared on the Forbes list of wealthiest Americans. Prior to his involvement in baseball, he played college football at Gonzaga University and served in the Army during World War II.
