Carol Habben

Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder/catcher Carol Habben played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League for four seasons. She was with the Rockford Peaches from 1951 through 1953 and the Kalamazoo Lassies in 1954. She went 1 for 26 with 7 strikeotus for the 1951 Peaches and played less than 10 games the next year. In 1953, she hit .194/~.238/.223 in a utility role. With the Lassies, she and teammate Chris Ballingall earned the nickname the "Home Run Twins". That year, the 21-year-old made huge strides, batting .276/~.363/.445 with 15 HR in 98 games. It was the league's highest-octane season by far and she was only 5th on her team in long balls, but she just missed the league's top 10 in that category. She mostly played outfield that year.
