Biographical Information[edit]
Cecil Burford pitched in the Milwaukee Braves system from 1957 to 1959, going 15-21 in 60 games. It wasn't at the professional level where he made his name, however.
In 1956, he was named the NCAA District III Finals' Most Outstanding Pitcher, leading the club to the College World Series. He is one of only a handful Ole Miss pitchers to toss a no hitter. In 2007, he was elected to the Ole Miss Athletics Hall of Fame.
