Biographical Information

Chiang-Ho Chen has played for the Taiwan national team several times. He is the nephew of Fu-Lien Wu.

Chen played in the 2001 World Port Tournament, going 4 for 29 with one walk and nine strikeouts. He also appeared in the 2001 Asian Championship. In the 2002 Haarlem Baseball Week, Chen was 1 for 7. He was 0 for 1 in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup. He hit .278/.350/.389 and played error-free ball as Taiwan's second baseman in the 2002 World University Championship. He also played in the 2004 World University Championship and 2005 Asian Championship.In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, Chen served as captain of the Taiwan entry. He was 3 for 13 while splitting third base with Yi-Chuan Lin and Sheng-Wei Wang.

Drafted by the Brother Elephants first overall in the 2006 CPBL Draft, Chen debuted in the Chinese Professional Baseball League in 2007 and hit .267/.299/.318. He batted .259/.313/.296 for the 2008 Elephants. Chen recorded a .240/.286/.268 batting line in 2009. The young infielder was selected into his first All-Star game in 2010. He batted .225/.261/.250 and won both Best Ten and CPBL Gold Glove award in this year. He improved in 2011, hitting .262/.298/.332 with 101 hits, and won the Gold Glove again. 2010 was Chen's career year, as he hit .284/.332/.346 with career-high 110 hits, and won both the Best Ten and the Gold Glove award again. He represented Taiwan in the 2012 Asian Championship. Chen batted .400/.438/.400 and ranked fourth in batting average and third in OBP.

Chen was on Taiwan's roster for 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers and 2013 World Baseball Classic. He backed up Yen-Wen Kuo, and only got four at-bats in two events combined. The Tainan native hit .270/.313/.305 in 2013 and .251/.311/.321 in 2014. 2015 was the last season for Chen to play as the everyday second baseman, and he recorded a 273/.322/.319 batting line in 97 games. After young talented infielders Tung-Jung Wu and Chih-Fang Pan joined the team, the 35-year-old infielder started to play a back-up role on the team. Chen decided to retire after 2019 season, and became the bench coach for the CTBC Brothers from 2019 to present. He was the defense coach for Taiwan in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

Overall, Chen had hit .258/.301/.305 in 13 seasons in the CPBL. He ranked third in career sacrifice bunts with 161, behind Kuo-Chong Lo and Sheng-Hsien Feng.
