Biographical Information[edit]
Chun-Kai Liao has played for the Taiwanese national team.
Liao was the shortstop when Taiwan won the 2010 World Junior Championship, hitting .240/.321/.280 with 5 runs and 2 RBI in 7 games, fielding .893. [1] He played in the Taiwanese minors in 2010, hitting .345/.379/.436 for the Brother Elephants, but never made it to the CPBL. [2] He was 0 for 12 in the 2013 World Port Tournament yet managed both a run and two RBI. [3] He helped Taiwan take Bronze at the 2013 East Asian Games. [4]
In the 2017 World Port Tournament, he hit .238/.370/.238 with 2 runs and 3 RBI in 7 games while handling 19 chances error-free. Taiwan won the title. [5] He batted .235/.364/.294 in the 2017 Asian Championship, with 4 runs and 4 RBI in six games while fielding .857. In the Gold Medal Game, he hit 2nd and played short for Taiwan. He was 1 for 3 with a run and had 3 assists in the field as Taiwan lost; he got the only run in a 6-1 defeat when Han Lin drove him in. [6]
