Biographical Information[edit]
Clyde Mashore played five seasons in the majors. He was primarily an outfielder and most of his time was spent with the Montreal Expos.
Mashore was born in Concord, CA and attended Clayton Valley High School. He signed as a free agent with the Cincinnati Reds in 1964. He spent most of his minor league career in the Reds' organization, coming to the Expos' organization in a trade for OF Ty Cline in 1970. Clyde had over 100 minor league home runs.
His son Damon Mashore, born in Puerto Rico while his father was playing in the winter leagues, was also an outfielder, but whereas Clyde played in the National League, Damon played in the American League. Another son, Justin Mashore, played 11 years in the minors, reaching Triple A with Toledo in 1995 and was later a major league coach. His grandson, Richard Rodgers, played in the NFL with the Green Bay Packers.
