Daisuke Miyake (三宅 大輔)

Biographical Information[edit]

Daisuke Miyake was a manager in Japan. He was the first manager of the Yomiuri Giants from 1934 to 1935 when they were still a amateur team under the name of the Dai Nippon Tokyo Yakyu Kurabu. He guided the Japanese All-Stars that played against the MLB All-Stars headlined by Babe Ruth, Lefty Grove and other legends in 1934. He then managed the Hankyu Braves from 1936 to 1937, and managed the Sangyo team in 1944. In 1969, he was inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.
