Biographical Information[edit]
William Capers "Doc" Bass came out of Mercer University to play a couple of games for the Boston Braves in 1918, hitting 1.000 (1-for-1). He was in the minors for several seasons after that in the South.
Doc was born (and died) in Macon, GA and attended Mercer University, located in his hometown. George Winn was there at the same time.
