Biographical Information[edit]
Ed Cheff is the father of former Cleveland Indians minor leaguer Tyler Cheff. He was the head coach at Lewis-Clark State College from 1977-2010, winning 16 NAIA titles. Over 140 of his former players have gone on to play professionally. Coach Cheff was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 1994 and the ABCA Hall of Fame in 2006. He has been a coach with Team USA (1991 Pan American Games), 1994) and has managed the Alaska Goldpanners and Anchorage Bucs in the Alaska Baseball League.
Cheff graduated from Lewis & Clark College (Oregon) and started his coaching career as a high school football coach. His first baseball coaching position was with Lower Columbia College (Washington).
He was elected to the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012.
