Biographical Information[edit]

The younger twin sister of Elaine Roth, outfielder Eilaine Roth played four seasons in the AAGPBL.

She began her career with two years with the Peoria Redwings (where her sister was a teammate). She was 4 for 17 with a double, 4 steals and a walk as a rookie in 1948 and made two errors in eight chances. In 1949, she batted .161/.242/.168 as a starter for Peoria (alongside Jo Lenard and Mary Reynolds in the outfield), with 16 steals, two doubles (and no further hits) in 91 games.

She then moved on to the Kalamazoo Lassies for two seasons, with her sister again as her teammate in the latter campaign. In 1950, she hit .202/.316/.233 with 64 walks and 64 steals in 107 games. She tied Betty Foss for sixth in the league in swipes. In her final year, "I" Roth batted .251/.323/.304 in 79 games.

Overall, the Michigan City native hit .200/.292/.228 in 293 games in the AAGPBL. She stole 100 bases, drew 121 walks and scored 116 runs in 293 games, but never hit a home run. She fielded .936.
