Biographical Information[edit]
Emilio Castro was a member of the Panama national baseball team. He represented the country in the 1965 Baseball World Cup, the 1966 Central American and Caribbean Games (Bronze Medal), the 1970 Bolivarian Games (Bronze Medal), the 1972 Amateur World Series, the 1973 Bolivarian Games (another Bronze) and the 1973 Amateur World Series. He coached for them in the 1984 World Junior Championship.
At age 15, he hit .381 for Los Santos in Panama's league, winning Rookie of the Year. He was MVP in 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1977. He hit .403 for his career. He later coached youth baseball and was a physical education teacher.
