The Incheon native had a huge improvement in 2021. In the 2022 KBO All-Star Game, Jung blasted a game-winning, 3-run home run against catcher Min-sik Kim (the team was out of relievers) in the 10th inning, and he was named the All-Star MVP. He had a .274/.377/.368 batting line with a league-leading 85 walks in the 2022 season. However, Jung struggled in 2023, and he only hit .222/.333/.268 with 2 homers.
