Felipe Fukuda has been on the Brazilian national team.
He was with Brazil when they won Silver Medals in both the 2013 South American Championship and 2015 South American Championship. He also was with Brazil for the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers but did not pitch. In the 2016 South American Championship, he started against Colombia and allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits anf three walks in six innings, fanning five. He allowed a homer to Steve Brown, the only dinger given up by Brazil's staff in the event. He left with a 3-3 tie in place, relieved by Jean Tome, and Brazil rallied to win. In the Gold Medal game, against Argentina, he replaced Murilo Gouvea in the 6th with a 3-0 lead and a no-hitter going. He allowed three hits and two runs in 1 2/3 IP, fanning one, before Claudio Matumoto Jr. took over. Brazil won the game and the title.
He had a 3.38 ERA in two outings for Brazil in the 2018 South American Championship; Argentina lost out this time to Brazil, getting the Silver.
