Biographical Information

Francisco Montero pitched seven seasons in the minors. His son is Elehuris Montero.

Montero was 0-4 with a 7.45 ERA for the 1994 DSL Cardinals/Phillies. He improved to 4-2, 3.69 for the 1995 DSL Phillies/Cardinals. In '96, he came north to go 0-2 with a 6.46 ERA for the Martinsville Phillies. With the same team in 1997, he was sharper at 3-5, 4.09.

He played in a full-season league in 1998, going 5-8 with a 4.05 ERA for the Piedmont Boll Weevils and only walking 15 in 120 innings. Back with Piedmont the next year, more in relief, he was 4-3 with two saves and a 3.05 ERA. He wound down his career with the 2000 Clearwater Phillies (2-1, Sv, 4.38).
