Biographical Information[edit]

Gabriel Robles has played in the Puerto Rican League and for the Puerto Rican national team.

Robles was with Puerto Rico for the 2012 Haarlem Baseball Week. [1] In the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, he backed up Francisco Lindor at short, Kevin Fontanez at 2B and Gaby Martinez and Antonio Candelaria at first. He outhit Lindor in the event, going 4 for 9 with a double, walk, two runs and a RBI while handling six assists error-free. Had he qualified, he would have been 4th in the Games in average (after Alfredo Despaigne, Dainer Moreira and Javier Dominguez). [2]

Back with Puerto Rico for the 2015 Pan American Games, he struggled as the starting shortstop, fielding .886 and batting .173/.226/.207. [3] He made his pro debut at age 34, hitting .138/.194/.172 in 17 games for the Santurce Crabbers and handled 49 chances error-free as a backup infielder. Moving to the Gigantes de Carolina the next winter, he improved to .308/.308/.333 in 15 games in his swan song, fielding .981 as their main shortstop.
