Haiti is a country in the Caribbean, occupying the western third of the island of Hispaniola, which it shares with the Dominican Republic. Its capital and largest city is Port-au-Prince. But while the Dominican Republic has long been a hotbed of baseball, producing hundreds of major leaguers, neighboring Haiti has rarely produced any minor leaguers and has never produced a major leaguer, although there have been a number of players of Haitian background, such as Estevan Florial, Juan Pierre, Jesen Therrien and Touki Toussaint.

For a long time, Haiti's main connection to baseball was that Rawlings manufactured the official baseballs used in the major leagues here, taking advantage of the country's cheap labor. However, political troubles in the 1980s prompted the company to relocate its factory to Costa Rica.

Haiti took part in the Caribbean Baseball Cup in 2018 and 2019, the first two times its national team had been involved in a major international baseball tournament.
