Born in Missouri, catcher Harry Lamprich moved to Tulsa as an infant and went on to attend the University of Tulsa, where he also played basketball. After college, he played minor league ball in 1942 before serving in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he returned to baseball, playing two seasons with the Amarillo Gold Sox of the West Texas-New Mexico League and managing the club in the latter campaign. After baseball, he worked for more than two decades in the oil industry.
