Biographical Information

Herb Cobb is, through 2019, one of five men named Cobb to come to the majors. He pitched an inning for the 1929 St. Louis Browns, played several years in the minors and managed once in the minors. His most notable minor league season was with the Wilson Bugs in 1926, when he went 20-13. Through 2019, Herb is the only major leaguer born in Pinetops, NC.
