Biographical Information[edit]
Ichizo Kobayashi was a Japanese businessman and politician. He was president of Hankyu Electric Railroad and several other companies. He helped organize the Hankyu Braves in 1936 and built Nishinomiya Stadium. He was a member of Japan's House of Peers from 1941-1946 and served as Commerce Minister (1940-1941) and Secretary of State (1945-1946). He was inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 1968, the same year as his brother Munehide Tanabe.
