Biographical Information

J.P. Howell was 1-0 with a 2.89 ERA for the US in the 2000 World Junior Championship; they got the Silver. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 1st round of the 2004 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Chet Sergo for a $1 million bonus and made his pro debut that summer.
