Biographical Information

Jake Drauby played 10 games at third base for the Washington Senators at the tail end of the 1892 season, hitting .206. Originally from Harrisburg, PA, it is not clear what his real last name was, as his family is listed in the 1870 census as "Dorbert" and in 1900 as "Taubert". That is the name listed on his grave in Harrisburg cemetery.

Jack played organized ball from 1886-1902, perhaps most notably hitting .379 with a team-leading 11 home runs for the 1894 Buffalo Bisons.

"I would like to contradict (what was believed to be the first time a player hit two homers in the same inning when a Denver player did so) . . . In 1897, when I was pitching for Springfield, Mass., of the Eastern League, Jake Drauby, then playing first base for Providence, made two home runs off me in the ninth inning . . .
