Biographical Information[edit]

Orignially drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 7th round of the 1997 Amateur Draft, pitcher Jake Meyer played ten minor league seasons, going 14-24 with a 3.69 ERA. After his final minor league season in 2004, he played one season for the San Diego Surf Dawgs of the independent Golden Baseball League in 2006, going 5-4 with a 5.09 ERA.

On February 10, 2000 he was part of the deal that brought Ken Griffey Jr. to the Cincinnati Reds. Of the four players the Seattle Mariners received in return for the disenfranchised slugger, Meyer was the only one never to reach the major leagues.
