Biographical Information[edit]
Jarvis Tatum played from 1968 to 1970 for the California Angels. He was traded to the Boston Red Sox, along with Gold Glover Doug Griffin and Ken Tatum (no relation), in a package for Tony Conigliaro. The Sawx released him in April 1971, and he signed with the Yakult Atoms in Japan. He finished his career with two seasons at the Triple A level in 1972 and 1973.
He is one of only two major leaguers (through 2019) with the first name "Jarvis", the other being Jarvis Brown.
He appeared in 13 games, hitting .347, for the legendary 1970 Hawaii Islanders who went 98-48.
