Biographical Information[edit]
Jay Sborz was selected out of high school by the Detroit Tigers in the second round of the 2003 amateur draft. Signed by scout Bill Buck, he played for the GCL Tigers in 2003 and 2004.
Sborz made his debut with the Tigers on June 22, 2010, giving up 5 earned runs in two-thirds of an inning against the New York Mets. He was sent back to the minors immediately after that inauspicious debut and never came back to the big leagues, retiring after that season.
Jay's brother Josh Sborz also played in the majors.
