Biographical Information

Jeff Juden was signed as a 1st round pick in the 1989 amateur draft by the Houston Astros and scout Tom Mooney.

Juden managed to play for eight teams in eight seasons. He was also known as a guitarist, which may also have contributed to his unique personality. He once won 10 games in a row over a year and a half without losing.

He appeared in Games 1 and 5 of the 1997 World Series for the Cleveland Indians, both times relieving in games that Orel Hershiser had started. He pitched the best game of his career on Canada Day, July 1 1997, with the Montreal Expos playing the Toronto Blue Jays for only the second time ever (it was the first season of interleague play). Facing Roger Clemens, he held the Blue Jays hitless until Shawn Green led off the bottom of the 8th with a solo homer, and was replaced by Ugueth Urbina with one out in the 9th, getting credit for the Expos' 2-1 win.
