Biographical Information

Reliever Jerinson Tatis pitched for the DSL Royals in the Kansas City Royals system in 2011 and 2012. He was signed by scouts Fausto Morel and Alvin Cuevas in February 2011. He was 2-0 with a 1.88 ERA in seven games in 2011 and 0-2 with a 3.09 ERA in 10 games in 2012. Overall, he was 2-2 with a save and a 2.42 ERA in 17 appearances. In 26 innings, he allowed 24 hits and 10 walks while striking out 10. Let go by the Royals, he was signed by the Oakland Athletics. He died during a shootout between two groups at age 18 on December 17, 2012.
