Biographical Information[edit]

The father of Jim Tracy and grandfather of Chad S. Tracy, Mark Tracy and Brian Tracy, Jim Tracy Sr. pitched three years in the minor leagues. He went 6-11 with a 5.64 ERA for the 1948 Americus Phillies and improved to 16-11, 2.92 for them in '49. He was 8th in the Georgia-Florida League in wins and possibly in the top 10 in ERA. After a year off, he was 10-10 with a 3.54 ERA for the 1951 Muskogee Giants to finish his career with a 32-32 record.

Prior to embarking on a professional baseball career, Tracy served three years in the U.S. Navy. After a long battle against prostate cancer, Jim Sr. died in 2006.
