Biographical Information[edit]
Johnny Bittner pitched 5 seasons in the Pacific Coast League Oakland Oaks and Hollywood Stars from 1938 to 1942, compiling a 58-62 record before going to serve in the US Navy in World War II. Bittner returned to the Stars at the age of 31 in 1946 as a reliever, and retired after that season.
Before going to the PCL, Bittner pitched for 2 seasons for Norfolk, the New York Yankees class-B Piedmont League affiliate, going 21-16.
