Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Juan Silva began his professional career after being taken by the Cincinnati Reds in the 8th round of the 2009 amateur draft. The scout was Miguel Machado. He was taken ahead of Paul Goldschmidt and Brian Dozier. The speedster stole as many as 34 bases in a season (2014, with the Bakersfield Blaze, when he was a MiLB.com Organization All-Star), with other totals of 31 (in 2013, with Bakersfield) and 25 (2012, with the Dayton Dragons).

He reached Triple A for the first time in 2015. He signed with the New York Yankees for 2016, but was released in June.
