Biographical Information

Jud Wilson played for the Baltimore Black Sox (1922-1930), the Homestead Grays (1931-1932, 1940-1945) and the Philadelphia Stars (1933-1939). He also played six seasons in the Cuban Winter League. A veteran of World War I, he is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

Wilson is the oldest player to hit a home run in a major-league game. At Yankee Stadium on September 23, 1945, Wilson homered off Cleveland Buckeyes pitcher George Jefferson at the age of 49 years, 206 days.
