Biographical Information[edit]
Kazuo Fukushima was a pitcher for Kokura High School and led them to back-to-back championships at the National High School Baseball Championship in 1947 and 1948. He started and completed all ten of their games in those two title runs. In the 1948 event, he tossed five consecutive shutouts. He never played professionally. Fukushima also represented Japan in the 1954 Asian Championship.
Fukushima was inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 2013.
