Biographical Information

Kun-Hsiang Tsai played and won a Gold Glove in the CPBL.

Tsai represented Taiwan in the 1993 Universiade. The Wei Chuan Dragons signed Tsai in 1997, and he hit .238/.312/.286 in his rookie year. Tsai made a huge improvement in 1998, participated in the All-Star Game for the first time in his career, and recorded a .292/.365/.350 batting line. In the 1998 All-Star Game, Tsai hit a two-run double off Osvaldo Martínez, and won the All-Star Game MVP award. He regressed on the offensive side, as he only hit .219/.296/.278 in 1999. On the other hand, Tsai enhanced his defense, and won his first CPBL Gold Glove award as an outfielder, and joined the All-Star Game again. When the Dragons dissolved afterthe 1999 season, the Uni-President Lions signed him. The Tainan native hit .267/.298/.385 in the first season with the Lions, and participated in the All-Star Game for the last time in his career. He set the team record for most doubles in a game with 4 on June 15. Tsai batted .280/.355/.373 in 2001, but declined to .188/.262/.203 in the 2002 season. After that season, the Lions traded him and Chao-Huang Lin to the Chinatrust Whales for Lien-Hung Chen. Tsai still couldn't find back his contact ability; his batting average was .230, .200 and .188 respectively in three years with the Whales, and they released Tsai after the 2005 season.

Overall, Tsai had hit .240/.303/.308 in nine seasons in the CPBL.
