Biographical Information

Kyle Glogoski had just turned 17 a month earlier when he was picked to play for the New Zealand national team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers; he was their youngest player. He had attended the Major League Baseball Australian Academy in 2015. In the 2017 WBC Qualifiers, played in February 2016 in Sydney, Australia, he got into one game, New Zealand's lone win. He relieved fellow high schooler Jimmy Boyce with a 15-7 lead in the 8th against the Philippines national team. Joshua Wong hit into an error by Daniel Lamb-Hunt but that was the lone baserunner Glogoski allowed as he then retired Jonash Ponce, Adriane Ros Bernardo (on a strikeout) and former major leaguer Eric Farris in order. There was no 9th inning as New Zealand got two runs in the bottom of the 8th to make it a mercy rule romp. This wasn't the first showing with his nation's national team as well, as Glogoski had played at various international competitions for New Zealand's international outfit since 2014, when he starred on them at the WBSC U15 World Championships in Mexico.

On the heels of his impressive showing Glogoski received his first shot at professional ball with the Sydney Blue Sox of the Australian Baseball League. Though his 5.84 ERA with the club that year was less then impressive, he was more then nine years younger then any other player on the team to record an ERA under 6.00 while throwing more then two innings. Following the 2017 season Glogoski got another huge break when he signed a contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. He officially signed his contract on January 8, 2018.

Initially assigned to the GCL Phillies for the 2018 season, Glogoski was started out slow but soon saw his workload increased. After back to back scoreless relief appearances on June 21st and 26th Kyle was moved to the rotation, where he'd compile a 2.52 ERA in eight starts the rest of the way. His finest starts came against the East and West Gulf Coast League affiliates of the New York Yankees, as he'd throw six scoreless innings against each. The latter outing started a 3-0 span in his final three outings of the year.
