"They tell me he has the stuff but needs plenty of work. If the first part of this is true I'll guarantee he'll be given plenty of work." - Walter Johnson, talking Lloyd to the Washington Post, February 26, 1929

Pitcher Lloyd Brown put up double digit victories in three consecutive seasons as a swingman for the Washington Senators from 1930 to 1932. He put up 16 wins and a 4.25 ERA in 1930 in 38 games (22 starts), but may have enjoyed the finest of the three seasons in 1931, going 15-14 with a 3.20 ERA and 15 complete games in 42 games (32 starts) and 258 2/3 innings. He capped the stretch with a 15-12, 4.44 season and 6 saves, pitching 46 times, starting 24 times and finishing 17 games in 1932. In 404 games in the big leagues from 1925 to 1940, Lloyd finished 91-105 with a 4.20 ERA and 23 saves.

Additionally, he was an accomplished minor league moundsman, compiling a 202-161 mark in 522 minor league games between 1923 and 1953 while making several leaderboards. He managed in the minors 11 years between 1947 and 1960 for various organizations, but only managed the entire season for 5 of the 12 teams. He was a scout for the Philadelphia Phillies (1957-1958, 1970-1971), Washington Senators (1961-1966) and Seattle Pilots (1969).
