Biographical Information[edit]

After his playing days, Lynn Jones was first base coach for the Kansas City Royals in 1991 and 1992. He then managed in the Florida Marlins system for seven years, and became the Marlins first base coach in 2001 then moved to the Atlanta Braves farm system for a year as a manager.

Jones was the Boston Red Sox minor league outfield/baserunning instructor in 2003 and managed the Lowell Spinners for 8 games at the end of the year, then coached for the big league Red Sox in 2004 and 2005, winning a World Series ring the first of these two years. He was the minor league outfield/baserunning instructor for the Cincinnati Reds in 2006-2007 and held the same position for the Atlanta Braves in 2008-2010.

Jones returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach in 2013.

He is the brother of Darryl Jones.
