Biographical Information[edit]

Jeremiah "Miah" Murray appeared in 34 games spread out over four major league seasons.

After his playing days he was an umpire in the National League, spending an entire season on the job in 1895 and also working isolated games between 1894 and 1910. He also appeared in college games.

The oldest bowling alley in Boston, MA was started by Murray, and it also had a billiard room. John Irwin was a partner. Murray was also involved in other sports, including polo and boxing. He was involved in fielding independent teams and was the guiding spirit behind the Armory Athletic Club.
