  • Bats Right, Throws Right

Michel Perdomo was a two-time member of the Cuban national team.

In the 1993-1994 Serie Nacional finals, Perdomo delivered the Series-winning hit in game 7 to score Ariel Pestano and give Villa Clara a 4-3 win.

Perdomo played for Cuba in the 1995 Intercontinental Cup but did not bat. He spent one inning in center field as the backup to Jose Estrada. For the Cuban B squad in the 1996 Haarlem Baseball Week, he was 6 for 23 with two walks, 7 runs and 8 RBI - his hits were all for extra bases, 3 doubles and 3 homers. He tied for 5th in the tournament in homers, tied for 8th in RBI, tied for 5th in doubles and was 9th in total bases.

In 1997-1998, Michel led the Serie Nacional with 9 sacrifice flies.

Perdomo was Cuba's starting left fielder in the 1999 Intercontinental Cup but did not do well, going just 2 for 21, with a walk, double, run and no RBI, easily Cuba's worst hitter in the tournament. Robelquis Videaux started ahead of him in the Gold Medal game, which Cuba lost to Australia 4-3; Perdomo made an appearance in the bottom of the 11th and last inning as a pinch-runner for Gabriel Pierre but would be stranded.

In 14 seasons through 2003-2004, Perdomo had hit .309/.368/.491. His last season was 2006-2007, he hit only .234/.299/.327 and he called it quits.
