Biographical Information[edit]
Nobuaki Nidegawa played with the Tokyo Giants and Nagoya Kinkos in the pre-league era before becoming a well-respected umpire in 1936. He was head of the Pacific League umpires for his final four seasons before he retired in 1963 and then worked as a baseball commentator for Fuji TV.
Nidegawa was inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 1970.
