Biographical Information[edit]

Park Swartzel led the American Association in home runs allowed and hits allowed in his only big league season. He was second in the league in saves and earned runs allowed, fourth in losses and wild pitches, fifth in walks per nine innings and batters faced, sixth in complete games, eighth in innings pitched, ninth in games and games started and tenth in strikeout to walk ratio.

Despite leading the Kansas City Cowboys in every major category in 1889 (except for wins and saves, he tied with Jim Conway for the team lead in wins and with John Sowders in saves), that would end up being his only season in major league baseball.

Statistically, he is most similar to Alex Ferson according to the Similarity Scores through June of 2010.
