Biographical Information[edit]
Phil Musick was a longtime sportswriter. He began his career with The Courier-News in Plainfield, NJ, then was at the Greensburg Tribune-Review as sports editor. He joined The Pittsburgh Press in 1969 and covered the Pittsburgh Pirates' World Series wins in 1971 and 1979. He later was the first sports columnist at USA Today before returning to the Pittsburgh Press. He left the Press in 1987.
Musick wrote books on Roberto Clemente and Hank Aaron.
He taught journalism at La Roche College after his writing days were over.
