Biographical Information[edit]
Rich Ramos went 53-54 in a five-year minor league career. He debuted with the 1953 Wisconsin Rapids White Sox and went 11-5 with a 3.33 ERA and 132 strikeouts in 119 innings. The next year, he fell to 11-11 with a 4.28 ERA for the Waterloo White Hawks and followed with a 13-12, 3.68 campaign with the Superior Blues. In '56, Rich was 10-11 with a 4.47 ERA for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Returning to Colorado Springs, Ramos had a 8-15, 5.33 line in his final season and was one loss behind Western League leader Sherman Jones.
He is the uncle of Mark Grant and father of minor-league pitcher Rick Ramos. He later was computer security manager of Argonne National Laboratory and volunteered for his church.
